12U Yankees Win Triple Crown North Atlanta Open

The East Cobb Baseball 12U Yankees fought through a gauntlet of competition to win the Triple Crown North Atlanta Open. Opening pool play with games against the 643 Cougars and Jaguars, the Yankees tied the Cougars 2-2 and defeated the Jaguars 12-4. As the 6 seed, an early morning 11-0 win over Team Elite set up a showdown with the East Cobb Astros. The Yankees jumped out to an early 3-1 lead eventually winning the game 6-3. In the semifinals, the Yankees faced a hungry Home Plate Chilidogs team. With the score 2-1 after three innings, the Yankees bats began to heat up and they scored 5 in the 4th, to finish off the Chilidogs and advance to the championship game with a 7-3 victory. In the championship, the Yankees would face Showcase Baseball. Jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead after the first inning, Showcase scored 2 in the second inning to take the lead. The Yankees scored 2 in the fourth and 3 in the fifth inning to take a 6-2 lead and take the championship. Over the 6 games played, the Yankees pitching and defense played a tremendous factor as they outscored the opposition 44-15.

The 12U East Cobb Yankees players include, Dylan Herrick, Dylan Harringon, Luke Flading, Josh Milman, Joey Ratner, David Luigs, Jacob Hefner, Alejandro Rodriguez, Nick Petcu, Carson Burgamy, Jackson Westmoreland, and Charlie Trotter. The coaches include, Jason Burgamy, Marc Herrick, John Westmoreland, and Jay Ratner.

The Yankees record currently stands at 34-8-3.
